It was a gloomy September morning – 4:30 a.m. I woke up by my husband’s alarm but stayed awake because of the heavy raindrops hitting the window. The wind was bashing the glass, and I just knew it would be the perfect autumn day.
You might think I’m exaggerating or imagining, but this did happen this morning. I got the dog out at around half-nine, and the crisp air wanted me to hate it, but I couldn’t. I loved its bite on my cheeks.
I love warm, sunny days, but I appreciate the grumpiness of this season, too. You don’t have to look too closely to find its beauty: crunchy leaves, many puddles for my dog to splash into, fewer people in the parks, warm fall drinks, cozy blankets, baked bread, and hygge moments.
