5-Minute guided journals have been popular for the last few years for a reason. As an avid journaler, I gave in and got one for myself last year… And I hated it!
I liked the idea of taking 5 minutes for self-reflection and self-motivation in the morning and evening. However, the prompts’ repetitiveness bored me less than a week into journaling.
At first, I blamed myself for my lack of discipline and my inability to stick to something for a longer period of time (unless it’s an unhealthy habit, of course).
But then I realized that the problem wasn’t in me.
And it certainly wasn’t in the journal.
There was no one at fault here.
A 200-page journal with the same three questions wasn’t something that resonated with me and my personality. I get bored quickly, I like challenges, and I love writing on different subjects and exploring different depths of my soul.
I had to find a way to grab the benefits 5-minute journals gave me and adjust it to my getting-bored-easily brain.
That is how I came up with 50 different five-minute journal prompts that I can choose from every morning and evening. They still promote mindfulness, self-reflection, and personal growth, but they are more than the basic three options the regular five-minute journal would give me.
I’ve also prepared a free printable for you to grab if you’d like to print those prompts and keep them in your journal, too. You can access them right here after signing up for my weekly newsletter. It takes 7 seconds, I promise!
