99 Ways to Get Seriously Organized At Home

One thing pops to mind when the organization bug enters my brain: lists!

It’s going to either be lists to make or lists to read and follow through. This list with 99 ways to get seriously organized is the second type.

Most of us would always stay in that “there is always room for improvement” state of organization. The reason is very simple and completely external: life.

As they say, the only constant thing in this world is change itself. It always happens and asks us for adjustment, adaptation, and growth.

We get married, we have a child, we get a dog, we buy a house, we celebrate holidays, we renovate and fix, we have another child, we get a cat, we get another house, our children start school, we start a new job with different work hours…

Something’s always changing, and in the brief moments between shifts, we often feel the need to review and adjust our lifestyle.

That’s life!

Therefore, it is logical that our organizing needs, skills, and systems should change as well. Some habits we’ve been cultivating for years go out the window, and others replace them because they work better for the new person we’ve become.

In this post, I give you a list of 99 ways to get more organized, and I beg you NOT to try them all. They are just an inspiration, a trigger list for sparking more ideas and motivating you to choose your level of adjustment.

One rule I always follow when adding more to my organization system is to ask myself this question: Is this going to require more effort to make it work, and if yes, is it going to be worth it in the end?

I mean, I love to watch those short videos where someone lays their trousers on the floor and neatly folds them into small, cute cubes, but heck, that would take me ages to do. It requires more effort, and at the end of the day, those trousers would take up roughly the same space in my wardrobe. So, that tip goes out the window for me.

If you see such a “high effort – low return on investment” tip below, just keep moving to the next idea.
