I have two Etsy shops, and while it is a demanding job, it can easily be sustained part-time and give you a good part-time income. It requires some patience and investment (depending on your craft), but if you do your job well, you can enjoy earnings in your very first week.

Keep in mind that Etsy is a place for truly handmade products and gifts; the accent is on uniqueness and originality. Buyers love personal attention, and each order is an opportunity for them to have an experience. They are okay with paying more for an item because they know it is handcrafted by a normal person, like them, and not manufactured in a warehouse in a land far, far away.

There are many things you can sell on Etsy. Here is a tiny list to get you inspired:

This post isn’t about how to start a blog, so I will keep things simple by telling you it’s the perfect side hustle for introverts – you never interact with anyone in person, and you can do faceless videos and photos in most niches.

How do you make money as a part-time blogger?

Here’s a short list of some of the ways to make money through blogging:

• Ads displayed on your blog – as you read this article, I am making money, and you are paying me nothing. It’s all because of the ads on this page. That’s the beauty of blogging: you don’t ask your readers for anything; you offer them quality content they stick around to read, and that makes you money.
• Affiliate – every time someone recommends a product and gives you a link to that product, chances are that link is encrypted with a special code telling the brand which page the buyer came from. When you buy the product, the blogger will get a tiny percentage of that money, and you don’t overpay anything, the commission is included in the product’s price.
• Selling products – I have a printable Happiness Journal that I sell on this blog. Some people sell books, planners, kits, or even physical products.
• Selling services—If you read the part above where I recommended the Etsy YouTuber, you will understand what I’m talking about here. He offers consultations for other Etsy sellers and sells his services. You can do the same through your blog.

I will give you the most horrible answer ever – it depends!

My first paycheck from blogging was $10; a year later, it was $1000, and my highest month ever was $6000. Blogging income fluctuates a lot, and you always have to seek ways to diversify it.

6. YouTube Content Creation

Creating video content is such a great way to make money nowadays, and YouTube is still the most popular way to make long videos and get paid for it.

You can make videos about basically anything and approach them from whatever angle you wish. What do I mean?

You can create videos as a professional in your field and educate people on the topic, sharing beginner tips.

You can create fun, entertaining videos that have the goal of making people laugh and/or relax.

• Brand collaborations—I can bet you’ve seen at least one sponsored video on YouTube in the last 24 hours. Brands pay YouTubers to try and talk about their products all the time. Rates depend on audience engagement and number of followers.
• Selling your products – again, you can sell any product here – printables, books, guides, courses, physical items.
• Services—Creating a channel on a subject you’re knowledgeable about would allow you to offer consultations, which can earn you extra cash.
• Membership sites and mastermind groups are also highly profitable when you have a good following on YouTube.

Working part-time on a side hustle like YouTube will initially yield little return. However, sticking to the plan and trusting yourself will eventually grow your income, and you can even replace your 9-5 job.

If videos aren’t your thing but you are willing to talk for hours on a popular topic, podcasting might be your way to go. You need to invest in a good microphone and work on marketing your podcast, but this can be a good side hustle that will earn you a chunk of money every month.

To start making any money through your podcast, you need to promote it and find as many people as possible willing to listen to your ramblings. Once you’ve got that one covered, here are a few popular ways to make money:

• Ads – if you upload your podcast to platforms like YouTube, you will get paid for the ads before, during, and after the podcast (the same monetization rules apply to everyone on YouTube). Place photos as a video part or create slideshows, and you’ve got yourself a podcast and YouTube channel.

Another shop creates simple wax candles and gives them purpose. For example, there is a candle for each zodiac sign, a candle for when you’re hating on your ex, a candle for when you’re reading spicy books, and more.

Creativity is all you need in candle-making. Love, discipline, and self-belief are also important, but you know what I mean.

This one is for all paper lovers out there. If you love journaling and are obsessed with notebooks, stickers, and diaries, you need to type “junk journals” in YouTube’s search box. Your life is going to change forever.

It is the one hobby you can monetize in so many ways that is unreal. I have monetized it. Let me tell you how.

People who love stickers and gluing stuff on paper, writing in weird-looking journals, and enjoying scrapbooking need materials to do all that. Most of the time, they can source them from a cheap website, but the vintage “feel” is gone.

Well, I am selling real vintage stuff. I create craft bundles with different pages from real vintage books, magazines, and all other types of paper ephemera (think postcards, music papers, children’s books, vintage bingo cards, and more). People buy the bundle and use it for months ahead.

You can do something similar or you can go a step further and create junk journals and scrapbooks for sale. Yes, these can sell for hundreds of dollars, if you make a name for yourself out there.
