25 Spring Self-Care Activities To Boost Energy

With the first truly bright rays of sunshine tapping on our windows comes the first jolt of hope and energy. There is no denying: spring feels like the beginning of the year more than the 1st of January ever did!

Spring days give us hope for new beginnings, sprouting energy, and promises of longer and warmer days ahead.

What better time to craft your self-care routine (or at least parts from it) based on the season? Living in harmony with nature and following its guidance makes it so easy to thrive and be happy.

So, today, I give you 25 spring self-care activities and ideas to enjoy the season in the most self-nourishing way.

While winter calls for a cozy mug of hot chocolate and thick socks, spring begs us to spend time outdoors, observing the new beginnings. That is why most of the ideas on this list invite you to switch the thick socks for your trainers and step into the beautiful new world around you.

Rejuvenating Spring Self-Care Ideas

1. Start a garden. It’s therapeutic, and if you don’t have space, you can still go ahead and do an indoor herb garden that can live on your kitchen window.

2. Journal outside. Pick an early morning in the nearest park, just after the sun has risen. The songs of the birds and the chill in the air would do wonders for your journaling inspiration.

3. Exercise outside. Go for a morning jog, do outdoor yoga in your back garden, or speedwalk in the nearest park; the options are endless.

4. Read in the park. If you aren’t into journaling or feel uncomfortable doing it outdoors, reading a few chapters of a favorite book counts as a spring self-care activity, too.

5. Visit a Farmers Market. You can prepare a new meal from scratch with the produce you get from there, and it will taste so much better than anything you get from the supermarkets.

6. Detox your body. These homemade detox drinks are so easy and delicious that you will fall in love with them.

7. Try a new salad recipe. The season gives you the best of everything – enjoy it!

8. Go on your first long hike for the year.

9. Do a spring-themed DIY project around the house. Paint something, upcycle old furniture, or start a new garden project.

10. Ride a bike with your children or with friends.

11. Meditate by the water. I can’t do that as every time I go near the water, I am bound to shout after my dog who tries to play with the ducks (spoiler: the ducks don’t want to play with her). That is not my vision of how meditation should go, but if you are pet-free or your dog actually listens to you, meditating by the water is an awesome experience… people say.

12. Go on a spring photography adventure. I love taking photos of blooming flowers in the spring. I never look at those photos, but I love taking them.

13. Attend outdoor festivals.

14. Enjoy a picnic in the park with friends and family. Choose the sunniest spot in the park and grab a few sandwiches, a deck of cards, and a few drinks. There you have it – picnic!

15. Plan a day trip to a nearby castle.

16. Stock up on some spring-scented aromatherapy essential oils.

17. Create a spring mini vision board. What would you like to happen this spring? Any goals, upcoming events, and projects?

18. Change your decor around the house. Swap the cozy winter decor with something lighter and greener to invite the new season in.

19. Do this digital detox and declutter challenge. It’s only 14 days long, and by the end of it, you will feel like you spring-cleaned your devices and mind.

20. Make a scrapbook of your favorite winter memories. Close the season with a round-up of all the lovely things that happen.

21. Make a playlist of your favorite songs of the season. Spring songs are light and cheerful and invite you on long countryside trips. That’s the vibe you’re looking for.

22. Plant a tree.

23. Have a spa day at home with homemade treatments.

24. Declutter your living space. Nothing says “self-care” better than freeing some space for new positive memories. Physical clutter reflects on your mental health, so by getting rid of a few old things, you automatically invite new memories into your life.

25. Start a new book that is light and gives you positive spring vibes.
