3 Rules to Follow When You Want To Cultivate the True Hygge Experience in The Morning

No rushing
Hygge is about approaching life mindfully, and mindfulness can never exist in a rushed and stressed-out mind.
Gifting yourself enough time to enjoy the morning, regardless of how you decide to spend it, is half of the hygge work done.
Try waking up earlier than usual so you have time to approach your morning rituals with calmness. That will also help if you have too many people in the house waking up at the same as you.
No Social Media
While one or two of the ideas suggest using your phone or another device, staying away from social media would be one of the best things you could do for yourself in the morning.
You want to create a hygge morning routine where YOU are your main focus, and nurturing yourself while scrolling on Tiktok doesn’t sound like self-care.

No Work
If your eyebrows just furrowed for a second, and you believe I’m insane to mention work in the morning, you are right. Skip this part. But some people out there will blush when reading this because they know that checking their work mail and thinking of the thousands of tasks on their to-do list is still considered work.
Work doesn’t exist in those first minutes of your day. Those minutes belong to you, not your boss, overdue project, or emails… They are yours only! Don’t compromise with yourself on that!

What is Hygge?
Now that the awesome ideas are laid in front of you, here is some more info on hygge.
What does hygge stand for? It’s a Danish thing!
No, seriously!
Hygge (pronounced hoo-ga) is a Danish word used to describe a cozy, comforting feeling one could experience alone with others. The word hygge doesn’t have a specific translation since it isn’t a thing or a place but rather a moment of contentment, calmness, peacefulness, coziness, quiet joy, and comfort.
Hygge is a huge part of Danish culture, and it is hard to say when it first appears. However, Danes are truly doing their best to create and experience as many hygge moments as possible. One theory suggests that the need for creating hygge moments comes from Denmark’s weather being cold and rainy for a big part of the year, and winter days usually end as early as 3 p.m.
It is believed that hygge is born out of the need to cope with the psychological challenges people face when sun and warmth are absent for an extended period of time.
On those dark, rainy, and windy days the only comfort one can experience is the comfort one creates for himself. This is how the hygge lifestyle slowly finds its way into people’s homes, minds and hearts.
