What image does it come to your mind when I tell you “a successful woman”? Do you see yourself walking on high heels down the street, holding a warm cup of coffee, glaring at the world around you through your fancy sunglasses?
What about sitting on the floor of your living room, munching on cookies, and writing an email to your team with details on the next big project your company takes on?
Both images are accurate and completely possible because we cannot label success with an image. Success is a feeling, and it’s a matter of mindset and habits.
And habits is what we are going to talk about today. In fact, we will talk about the daily habits of successful women. We list 15 of the little things a woman might consider implementing into her life to get one step closer to achieving her goals.

Morning habits
People are creatures of habit and routine. Willingly or not, we all create behaviors that stay with us for life. That’s why it’s essential to choose and maintain our habits consciously. So sticking to a morning routine helps us set the tone for the day. And one of the secrets of successful women is to develop a morning routine. Start each day fresh and try to focus on what’s in front of them. Here’s what successful women do in the morning.
1. They Meditate And Do Yoga

The best way to start your day is with some meditation and/or yoga. By incorporating this habit into your morning routine, you will increase your self-awareness and abundance, making it easier for you to navigate through the day with skill and ease.
If you don’t trust me, then you might trust Arianna Huffington, co-founder of Huffington Post and founder and CEO of Thrive Global. She incorporates meditation into her morning routine every day. “I take a minute to breathe deeply, be grateful, and set my intention for the day.” she shared in a recent interview.
2. They Wake Up Early
Have you ever heard of a successful lady that sleeps in every day instead of waking up early and working towards her goals? Me neither. And have you ever wondered why it is so important to wake up early to be successful? Well, here’s the answer. Getting out of bed improves cognitive functions, contributes to better mood and mental health, and reduces stress.
When you get up early, you have time to work out, have breakfast, drink coffee and only then start your day. Otherwise, if you sleep in, you will have to start with work right after getting up, leading to a more stressful day.
3. They Create A To-Do List

Successful women usually have a thousand things swimming around their heads. And trying to remember all of them dooms some to slip away. It’s no secret that writing down everything that’s scrambling around in our brains brings a sense of relief.
From a psychological point of view, to-do lists lead your brain to stop stressing about remembering and turn on your actual thinking mode. This way, you can prioritize and sort out your tasks. No one could put it better than Liz Sumner, a productivity coach. She says that “your mind is for having ideas, not holding them”. And a countless number of successful women follow that advice.
4. They Say Positive Affirmations
Affirmations are a powerful yet underestimated method to create motivations. And when done in the morning, they have an even greater effect. Affirmations have the power to change your negative thinking patterns and replace them with encouragement and positivity. It has also been suggested that affirmations directly correlate with goal achievement and an increase in self-confidence.
Jenifer Lopez is living proof that positive affirmations in the morning could change your life. The star says that her day is incomplete without at least 15 minutes dedicated to affirmations. She has always said that affirmations have brought success for her, which helps her stay grounded.
Habits during the day
Starting your day on a positive note is important, but it means nothing if you don’t have any healthy habits during the rest of the day. Not sure how to do that? Here are more of the daily habits of successful women.
5. They Stay Curious

How do you think that today’s highest performing female CEOs got where they are today? “By working their butts off” is probably what pops up in your head first. And that’s true. But it’s not the only reason. Staying curious is a crucial part of success. But what does staying curious mean? It means to stay informed, to learn, and to strive for knowledge constantly.
What can you do to stay curious? Sign up for newsletters, follow the news on various media platforms, watch documentaries, stay connected with like-minded people, cultivate creativity by supporting art…the list goes on, but I think you got the point.
6. They Read
Reading is closely related to staying curious; however, it deserves a whole section on its own since reading is an essential point of being successful. Regardless of whether you prefer fiction, action, adventure, horror, historical, mystery, or self-help books, reading throughout the day is a great way to keep your brain engaged while still resting.
When you read, you exercise your comprehension and analytical abilities. Books stimulate your imagination, helps to recall information, and even stabilize your emotions. In a world where everybody is so wrapped up with instant gratification means, such as TV and social media, books remain our only true vehicle for straightening our brain muscles.
7. They Eat Healthy

As we already mentioned, successful women are usually extremely busy.
However, although there’s often little time in their schedules for non-work-related matters, they try to eat healthily. Food is the fuel for our minds and bodies, and feeding it junk has a negative effect on our performance. That’s why if you want to be successful, you should keep a healthy diet.
While it’s true that eating healthy might be time-consuming, you can incorporate some low-effort healthy meals into your everyday diet. Meal preps is a great way to start. Blake Lively, for example, swears by her meal prepping skills. She also shares that she prefers to cook large amounts of food on Sundays, which saves her a lot of time during the week.
Evening Habits
Having a stable morning routine and keeping your spirit up during the day is crucial for success. However, ending it on a positive note is equally important. Here is what successful women do in the evening.
8. They Have Off-Screen Time

Successful women spend most of their days staring at their laptops or phones.
But they always make sure to unplug at the end of the day. It’s recommended to change your email status to “away”, and leave social media on the side while resting.
And reducing screen time also frees up more time to connect with family and friends while eliminating stress, depression, and anxiety symptoms. Have you ever wondered how successful women stay energetic all the time? They limit their screen time in the evening since it can drown them from their energy.
9. They Exercise
I don’t think I need to elaborate much on that. We all know the importance of getting our blood pumping and body moving. And while some successful women recommend exercising in the morning, we can all agree that there’s usually no time to do so. That’s why working out in the evening is a great idea.
Muscle strength, flexibility, power output, and endurance are all the better in the evening. Also, people who exercise in the evening take up to 20% longer to reach the point of exhaustion.
10. They Reflect On Their Day

Successful women always make time for reflection at the end of the day. This gives their minds time to process the things they’ve done without worrying about the next tasks ahead. But how do they do that? The simplest way to reflect is to keep a journal.
Writing down what you felt and did during the past hours is proven to eliminate stress and anxiety. Plus, it’s important to keep track of your progress, especially when your schedule is busy.

Scared of journaling?
Journaling has so many benefits, and you've always wanted to stick to it but never did. It looks and sounds complicated. You think that there are some rules you know nothing of and can't see the magic everyone talks of.
Inside of My Happiness is your go-to journal for the morning and the evening. Get inspired in the mornings, reflect on yourself in the evening. As simple as that.
11. They Go To Sleep Early
Finally, successful women always strive to go to bed early. It helps to regulate the sleeping schedule and trains the body to wake up earlier naturally. If you manage to create the habit of going to bed early, you’ll start feeling less groggy in the morning.
Day-off habits
Habits are an important part of our lives. Even on our days off. Have you ever wondered how to be a successful woman? Well, here are some habits that you should incorporate on your day off.
12. They Make Time For Hobbies

For a lot of busy women, hobbies are a distant concept.
Nobody has time for gardening or painting between meetings and deep work. But busy people need hobbies the most. In fact, it may sound counterintuitive, but spending time on hobbies can help lighten up your demanding schedule. It will also lower the chances of burnout which is a common condition among busy women.
Take Beyoncé, for example. Recently she revealed that she blows the steam off by taking care of her two beehives. Or Taylor Swift, who picked up a DIY hobby on Pinterest. She likes to make snow globes out of Mason jars, antiques, and glitter. Successful women usually have a hobby or two that they do on their days off. And you should too.
13. They Rest
If you know any successful women, then you have probably noticed that they’re very determined.
But determination and ambition consume most of the time and energy that a person has. Don’t get me wrong; there’s nothing wrong with that. After all, you need to give your all to succeed. But the importance of rest shouldn’t be underestimated.
Resting during their day off is a priority of all successful women. And for a reason. Rest has a positive impact on the body and mind. Everybody needs time to recharge, including the successful ladies.
14. They Spend Time Outdoors

Successful women usually spend a lot of time behind the laptop. This means that they rarely see the sunlight. Especially nowadays when it’s gotten harder to go out due to the self-isolation restrictions. Our lives have changed dramatically in the past couple of years, and being busy doesn’t help.
That’s why if you want to keep your sanity, you should put effort into spending time outdoors. It can help improve your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Even if the weather conditions aren’t the best, you should always find time to go out and breathe some fresh air.
15. Make Homecooked Meals
Many successful women do not have time to cook since they’re insanely busy most of the time. But that doesn’t mean they don’t make time for delicious feasts on their days off. You need to treat your body with respect, and the best way to do that is to feed it with healthy homecooked dishes. Cooking at home contributes to healthier diets, saves money, reduces calorie consumption, and essentially brings joy.
Imagine this – you finally have some time off after a long week, you pour a glass of wine, turn your favorite podcast on and start making a delightful meal out of the fresh veggies and meat you bought earlier from the local store. It doesn’t get any better than that.
