1. Setting Up Goals as a Source of Motivation

“People often say motivation doesn’t last. Neither does bathing—that’s why we recommend it daily.”

Zig Ziglar

Whenever we think of achieving something in our lives, the first thing that comes to our mind is the need for the force to keep us going unless we reach that point that we’re longing for our whole lives.

This force is called motivation.

And you know what the primary source to get yourself some inspiration is? Your goal! There’s no other thing responsible for pushing you up on the tracks that lead to the final destination.

Setting up goals gets you excited, gets you pumped up, and you’re waking up every morning with that sweet tickle in your chest – motivation.

2. Goals End Procrastination

“Following-through is the only thing that separates dreamers from people that accomplish great things.”

Gene Hayden

Attach motivation to your goal and you have the perfect recipe for ending procrastination.

Setting up a goal is the classic game for everyone but sticking to it for longer without delaying your tasks is the main thing that holds importance in reaching your goal.

Accountability to finish your tasks daily on the decided time is called the real determination to your pursuit. But do you know what keeps us from following our fixed schedule? Procrastination!

Procrastination exhausts you mentally because you’re fighting with your conscience. When you know you must do something yet find reasons to skip on it once again, that creates an inner conflict that does you no good.

So how does setting up goals end procrastination?

It’s really simple actually.

When you set up a big goal that answers your dreams, you also start seeing it as a reward.

You plan it, nourish it, look after it, modify it, and split it into small and reachable parts.

Your brain is programmed in a way to reach out for rewards. You want that feeling of satisfaction, and when presented with the motivation, you don’t have any other desire than reaching it.

3. Reasons to Set Up Goals as Having a Firm Grip on Life

Ask yourself if what you’re doing today is getting you closer to where you want to be tomorrow.

Paulo Coelho

What do you think of when I tell you to have a firm grip and control on the actions of your life?

Many of us live life without a schedule, which is the main reason for lowering our energy and feeling “tired of life.”

The sleepwalking style of going through your days can be undone by simply having a goal. Many people out there do their best to achieve their goals and still fail to reach their destination.

Do you know what the reason is for all this is? Not having a particular direction to go on.

Imagine you’re in a tunnel. How would you know where to go if there’s no light in it?

Get that piece of paper and write down your goals. Turn the lights on in the tunnel.

4. Goals Keep You Focused

When your drive is moving your purpose, focus must hold the wheels else you might miss the way. And do you know what that means? Avoid Crash!!!. Stay focused!

Israelmore Ayivor

Do you struggle with being focused on one thing?

Maybe you didn’t set up the right goals.

Here’s the things.

Often we believe we have goals, and we walk towards them. In reality, we have wishes, and we stumble upon ideas based on our wishes. Needless to say, this isn’t how goal-setting works.

5. Goals Keep You Inspired

Now tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?

Mary Oliver

Yes, I talked of motivation as one of the reasons to set up goals, and now I talk about inspiration. They aren’t the same, even if we see them as similar.

When you’re working towards your goals, you feel not only motivated to do what you must do. You feel inspired to live your life in a better way.

You are happier, joyful, and radiate an inner light. Being inspired is what pushes the motivation button.

6. Having Goals Keeps You Accountable For Your Own Success

The man on top of the mountain didn’t fall there.

Vince Lombardi

No, it’s not ok to ignore your succes.

Read the following sentences very carefully.

Wherever you are, whatever you do, don’t stop fighting for your success. Life is crazy, not just this year, but all the time. We face our challenges, and even if they aren’t global, it doesn’t make them less important.

But we are all obligated to dream, be happy, and get to the level of success we dream of.

How do we do that? By setting up goals.

With that said, what are your goals? Are you ready to narrow them down, create lists and action steps? Are you ready to get to work? Are you ready to fight for your success?

7. Goals Make You Move Forward

What would you do if you weren’t afraid?

Sheryl Sandberg

I’m sure that if you think about it, you will admit you know at least one person who just floats through life without any expectations, goals, dreams. They wake up, go to work, gave up on success a long time ago, and live day after day in the same way.

I will never blame or judge this type of life. Neither you nor I have walked in that person’s shoes and know what got them into that state of mind.

Yes, this isn’t a lifestyle, but a state of mind.

The state of mind where you don’t want to take a step forward, go out of the square box, push a few buttons in your life, and then work for the change.

Often we believe we have goals, and we walk towards them. In reality, we have wishes, and we stumble upon ideas based on our wishes. Needless to say, this isn't how goal-setting works.Click to Tweet

But what I know for sure is that life like that doesn’t satisfy you. And if it does, by all means – enjoy it.

However, if you have that feeling that there’s more for you out there, if you feel you’re meant to do something with yourself on this Earth, you are also obligated to go ahead and search for that thing.

How do you do that?

Well, you already know the answer: by setting up goals and working hard on achieving them.
