I bet you feel overwhelmed, stressed, pushed by family, work and life.

I know you might need some encouragement, inspiration, and tricks to start loving yourself and enjoying your life once again.

That’s where the self-care challenges come in.

What is a 30 Day Self-Care Challenge?

Shortly, it’s a list of 30 simple things to do for the next 30 days – one a day keeps anxiety away. Each one of the tasks asks you to do something with your wellbeing in mind. There is a wide variety of self-care ideas to put into practice, and a 30 Day self-care challenge focuses on just a part of them.

Why do you need 30 Day self-care challenge?

Because you do!

Okay, let’s be serious.

You need and deserve are obligated to do something for yourself every day. An act of self-care is an act of self-love.

Let me be honest.

I don’t know you.

You might be a mom of three that doesn’t have time to brush her teeth without someone knocking on the door and asking for attention.

You might be a college student who has tons of books piled up on the desk, screaming for attention.

You might be a working single lady who feels a little bit bored and unmotivated to pursue her dream life.

Whoever you are and whatever you do today – you need to look after yourself and include at least one act of self-care in your day.

Does self-care take long?

Honestly, many people feel like self-care means only soaking in the bathtub for an hour with a glass of sparkling wine and a book. The air must be filled with the mist of ten candles and rose petals are flying over the water…

Okay, I want that too.

I don’t have any children. I have a bathtub. I have candles. I can find rose petals. But I don’t have the time to soak in it for an hour.

I bet you’re busier than me, so don’t feel guilty for not having the time for all that fancy stuff.

But self-care is translated into many things:

  • self-care is shutting off your phone early enough so you could get those precious extra 20 minutes of sleep.
  • self-care is choosing a healthy food option when presented with the opportunity to indulge in junk food.
  • self-care is saying no when you’re already too busy to do yet-another-favour
  • self-care is asking your husband to look after the children while you go shopping alone.
  • self-care is calling a friend and spending half an hour just chatting with them
  • self-care is staying in the pyjama until 12 p.m. on Saturday just because you want
  • self-care is asking yourself what can you do today that will help you nourish yourself.
  • self-care is paying attention to your feelings when talking to other people and being mindful of how they treat you

Al that is self-care and it could take a few minutes or a few hours. It can be implemented into your daily routine, no matter how your day looks.

With that in mind, I’ve created a 30 Day self-care challenge for you.

30 Day Self-Care Challenge

Day 1: Choose affirmation for the month. It must be self-care related and you could save it on your phone or have it on a piece of paper around you to read it every morning.

Example of self-care affirmation:

  • Today I choose to look after myself better and love myself fully.
  • I appreciate myself.
  • I am conscious of the things that bring me joy.
  • My wellbeing is my priority.

Day 2: Try preparing new hot beverage (here are a few delicious recipes for the winter and even more fresh drink options for the summer)

Day 3: Read a few pages of your all-time-favourite book. Don have it? I bet you can find it for free with Amazon’s Audible deal here.

Day 4: Listen to ambience music. You can choose anything you wish: Christmas ambience, rain sounds, forest ambience, and more.

Day 5: Declutter your desk. Here’s a good desk organizer if you need.

Day 6: Have a green smoothie or choose any of these detox drinks to clean the toxins out of your precious body.

Day 7: Skip social media today.

Day 8: Go for a walk in the park, around the neighbourhood or to the city centre.

Day 9: Write the names of 10 people you are grateful you have in your life. Opposite each name, write at least one word that summarises why you are grateful they’re in your life.

Day 10: Enjoy a comedy seasoned with popcorn.

Day 11: Buy yourself flowers.

Day 12: Dress up with the latest clothes you got for yourself, even if you are staying home all day. This one could be very pleasing or very funny, depending on what you got yourself the last time you went shopping.

Day 13: Spare half an hour of your day and include as much pampering as you can. You could do just bath or scrub your body with a brush; face mask is an awesome idea or maybe mani and pedi will fill the time too. Whatever you need, girl.

Day 14: Go for a hike or a bike. Just choose an activity that speeds up your heart rate.

Day 15: Chat with someone you know will make you laugh.

15 More Ideas for Self-Care Challenge

Day 16: Make a bucket list for the month, the year, or for your whole life. It’s your choice.

Day 17: Take a nap. You know you want to.

Day 18: Buy a real paper magazine and take quiet time to explore it.

Day 19: Call someone you miss (no ex-boyfriends, please!)

Day 20: Declutter your phone from photos you don’t need to keep.

Day 21: Meditate for 10 minutes.

Day 22: Find the perfect quote to inspire and motivate you. Keep it written somewhere you could look at it every day.

Day 23: Cook something you love and enjoy it without feeling guilty about it.

Day 24: Dance around the house. If you don’t live alone, ask the others to join you.

Day 25: Pick a tiny home project for the day. I am sure you have at least one idea in mind. Make it happen.

Should you stick to it for 30 days in a row? It’s nice if you manage, but don’t use it as another reason to stress.

I would ask you to shuffle things around so they fit in your schedule. Do some of the ideas twice if you loved it.

Take a journal and write down your experience and your thoughts.

Most of all, enjoy every bit of it. That’s the reason it’s called a 30 Day self-care challenge.
